A Normal Afternoon

Today was Miss Kristyn's last day. She's been Lilli's afternoon teacher since April (she was in a different room before that). We made her some brownies and a card last night, and gave her a high 5 before leaving today. She's going home for the summer but will be back this fall when school starts up again. At work today our Kids Buyer gave me a sample of some little kid dishes one of our vendors had sent him. I KNEW Lilli would love it and when I showed her the package in the car she wanted to play with it right away! She loves to play pretend with dishes, and with these having animals on them she was in heaven.
I thought I'd try and see if she could drink out of the cup, since the next class up (18M-24M) they drink out of cups (and are also mostly pottytrained!). The first thing she did with it was pour the whole thing into her bowl - the same way we do at the pool and when we play with water! Ooops! But she KNOWS what you're supposed to do with a cup, so the second time she gulped WAY too much down - choked herself and got it all over her shirt. I think this will take some practice!
While some kids like pushing their baby dolls around and playing momma, Lilli prefers to stroll her dinosaur around and play paleontologist.
After dinner we took her dinosaur for a walk and splashed in all the puddles this afternoon's surprise thunderstorm had left.
We also threw walnuts in the street and waved Good-bye to them, since we're not allowed off the sidewalk.
It was a great night! We're looking forward to the weekend and celebrating the 1st birthday of one of Lilli's little pals!
