July 4th Weekend, Part 2
After lunch we broke out a little sprinkler I had gotten at Target a couple of weeks ago, a little caterpillar thing with arms that spray water. Lilli was tired so she was really apprehensive of it so of course we had to show her what to do!
Pippin **briefly** considered it then realized it was water and ran the other way. Sugar melts in water....
Kasey and I demonstrating for Lilli...
Miss Priss didn't want to get her swimsuit wet, so she didn't want to play in it. No lie.
She finally, slowly warmed up to it. The key with her is to give her a bucket or some sort of task and she'll forget all about not wanting to get her clothes wet.
By the time they showed back up with a slip n slide she was all about it and was slinging the whole thing around.
The slip n slide was a little big for Lilli this year, she didn't want to run on it, but Kasey and Cody had a blast.
She just wanted to walk down it, no slipping or sliding.
Except it is a bit slick, so you will slide whether you like it or not!

July 4th Weekend, Part 1
We have had a great July 4th weekend!
Saturday morning (early) we left to visit my parents for the 4th. Bruce and his family were there, and of course Pippin's cousin Chloe was there. She and Pippin got along great this time, he's feeling so wonderful and cancer-free and she's grown out of that annoying puppy stage. She did enjoy chewing on his toys. After they left on Sunday he was wondering around looking for her for a while.
Of course Mom wanted to start the day off with the annual "drilling flags into the ground" task. Lilli preferred dancing.
Of the 3 grand-kids only Cody cooperated with this task that only Mom enjoys.
While the kids enjoyed their toys the adults enjoyed the toys Bruce brought. His scooter -
Luckily no children were run over or harmed by the scooter.
Or Bruce's other toy - the motorcycle.
Lilli always refers to her Grandmas as "my two Grandmas". This started when she asked me where a certain pig lovie came from and I told her that her two Grandmas had bought it for her before she was born. It probably doesn't help that when she sees them they are normally together. Well, when her other Grandma showed up she brought a new firetruck with her.
Everyone enjoys Grandpa's corn on the cob. She ate one and a half of them...
Time for the annual family picture. Pippin was the star of the show and ate it up.
Bruce was incredibly proud of his hat/bottle opener. And the helmet that makes phone calls. Personally I think he either has too much money or too large of a credit line. =)
The girls had a great time playing "mermaids".

First Fish!
Lilli "caught" her first fish on granddad's pond this weekend.
This really means that a)we'd been throwing fish food directly into the area we were fishing so they were practically jumping on the hooks and b)she managed to hold onto the pole while he did all the work without falling in (a feat that both Pippin and Chloe have managed to fail at in the past. One year Pippin actually fell in there twice).
But she did it and was awfully proud!!! She ended up catching two fish before she returned to just throwing food in the pond to benefit Kasey and Cody's fishing efforts!

Lots of Food....
If you're looking for us, most of the time we're at the playground.
Mostly just being weird and having fun. Someone please buy Brent a new pair of jeans, and also a new pair of shorts.
I promise I have other shirts, too. I just generally try to avoid creating more laundry.
We love Greek food. Probably because a pita looks like a tortilla and rice is rice.
Live music makes us all happy, too. She was the only one who clapped for every song they played!
FroYo is also a happy maker. Sweet CeCe's is all the rage basically all over town so we checked out the one in Green Hills last weekend after we got my new iPhone. We were disappointed that their FroYo contains lactose (via skim milk) but they did have one sorbet Lilli could eat. The problem with that is that she would always rather eat mine instead, and I for sure wasn't getting an orange sorbet.
Rainy Sunday lead to initial umbrella excitement.
That excitement is short lived as sugar apparently does melt if it gets wet. It's a really good thing I work out.
Kroger is getting wilder by the week.
Apparently she has a future in Visual Merchandising. I know a few places that could use some help in that area.
